Historic District Guidelines

The Ballpark Neighborhood Historic District is filled with beautiful old buildings, used for both residential accommodation and business.

The District has importance in the areas of history, architecture, and geography. The period of historical significance for this district, extends from 1880 to 1948. The date of 1880 was selected because three buildings were built in that year—buildings at 2048-2053 Larimer Street, 2063 Larimer Street, and 2217-2219 Larimer Street. The date of 1948 was selected since it was the date of construction of the last buildings in the area that reflects the district’s historical character and because it exceeded the half-century milestone. Although no buildings remain, the district has associations with Denver’s early decades of the 1860’s and 1870’s.
