Opening
BPNA General Membership Meeting 3/23/05 6PM @ Premier Lofts

The Meeting
- Neighborhood Police Officer-Umar Shabazz said they continue to do undercover
drug busts and decoy auto theft stings. Busts are very successful
in the short run.
- Cingular Lodo Fest is June 17 & 18. Al Kraiser said
the tickets will be less expensive and hopes to encourage greater
attendance. Exact area of festival is still being determined.
- New
Denver Justice Center and Jail-Federico Alvarez spoke of the
need for a new facility to help ease the overcrowding and dangerous
contact between victims and alleged perpetrators. Arguments against the
center are: 1) Too close to downtown and the new convention center;
2) Cost of the project. Feeling of group was not to take a stand
due to our non-profit status.
- Walnut Street Townhomes-2325 Walnut
Need rezoning to R-M-U 30 with waivers from setbacks (5’ from sidewalk & 13’ from
alley). 29 for sale units with 1.5 parking spaces each.
Price $250-600K. They are looking for our support letter with 5-6 months.
- Blake
27-2680 Blake St. Has new zoning. Brownstone like exteriors
units are 1200-1400 square feet, 3 stories with roof top decks.
Priced from $329K for 1 bedroom and $409 for 2 bedrooms. Sales office
opens 4/9/05 @ 2401 Larimer St.
Next General Membership Meeting is May
25, 2005 @ Broadway Plaza Lofts (2330 Broadway) @ 6PM.
